What Is a Post-Graduation Work Permit?
The PGWP is an open work permit issued to international students who have successfully completed an eligible post-secondary program at a recognized Canadian institution. Unlike employer-specific permits, the PGWP allows graduates to work for any employer, in any location in Canada.

PGWP Duration
The length of a PGWP depends on the duration of the completed study program:
Programs between 8 months and under 2 years may qualify for a PGWP of the same length
Programs of 2 years or more may qualify for a PGWP of up to 3 years
Certain combined programs may also qualify for longer permits
The work permit cannot be extended beyond the maximum eligibility period.
