Key Features, Work Rights, and Family

The Training Visa is designed for training, not general employment, so your work must relate directly to the approved program. However, it still gives valuable access to Australian workplaces and lifestyle.

  • You can live in Australia for up to 2 years (sometimes slightly less or more, depending on the approved training length).

  • You may work only in relation to your training; condition 8102 prohibits unrelated work.

  • Eligible family members (partner and dependent children) can be included; they generally can work up to 40 hours per fortnight while in Australia.
